Description
This naturally sweetened peach butter is made with ripe peaches, honey, and lemon juice—slow-simmered until thick and smooth. A wholesome and delicious spread perfect for toast, oatmeal, or desserts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 ripe peaches, peeled and chopped
- 3 tablespoons raw honey (or maple syrup)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Prep the Peaches: Use the blanch-and-shock method to easily peel the peaches. Remove pits and chop the peaches into small pieces.
- Simmer: In a large saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, honey (or maple syrup), and lemon juice.
- Simmer over low heat for 60–70 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and becomes rich and spreadable.
- Blend or Mash: For a chunky finish, mash with a fork. For a smooth finish, use an immersion blender or food processor.
- Store: Let the mixture cool, then transfer to clean, airtight jars. Store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks or freeze for up to 6 months.
Notes
Use very ripe peaches for the best flavor and natural sweetness. You can also add a pinch of cinnamon or ginger for a warm twist.
