- 2 large, boneless and skinless Chicken Breasts
- 1 cup, preferably Italian seasoned Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup, grated Parmesan Cheese
- 1 cup Marinara Sauce
- 1 cup, shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and pound them to 1/2 to 3/4 inch thickness.
- Season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan and Italian seasoning.
- Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg wash, and coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Lightly brush or spray both sides of the chicken with olive oil.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Air fry the chicken in a single layer for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Transfer the cooked chicken back to the basket, spoon marinara sauce on top, and sprinkle with mozzarella and remaining Parmesan.
- Air fry for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Notes
If your air fryer runs hot, check after 6 minutes to avoid over-browning. For extra-crispy results, use Panko breadcrumbs.
