Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • Sliced almonds (for topping)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix almond flour, powdered sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until frothy, then add vanilla and almond extract.
  4. Fold the egg white mixture into the dry ingredients gently.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.
  6. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoon portions of dough onto the baking sheets.
  8. Press sliced almonds on top of each cookie.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  10. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar if desired, then serve.

Notes

For the best results, ensure egg whites are at room temperature and do not overbeat them. Chill the dough to improve texture.
