Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon; mix well.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and milk until smoothly blended.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the chopped apples gently.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter.
- Carefully spread the remaining batter on top and sprinkle with the rest of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl through the batter to create a marbled effect.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While cooling, mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for the glaze.
- Once the loaf is cool, drizzle the glaze over the top, slice, and enjoy.
Notes
For the best flavor, use fresh apples like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp; avoid overmixing the batter.
