Apple Pie Bars take classic apple pie flavors and transform them into convenient, hand-held treats with layers of buttery crust and sweet apple filling.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups peeled and diced apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- Add butter to the dry mixture and mix until crumbly.
- Set aside 1 cup of the crumbly mixture for topping later.
- Press the remaining mixture into the bottom of the greased baking pan.
- In another bowl, mix the apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg until coated.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over the apple filling.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool completely before slicing into squares.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For added flavor, serve with vanilla ice cream, caramel drizzle, or a dusting of powdered sugar.
