Description

Delicious Apple Snickerdoodle Bars blending snickerdoodle flavors with fresh apples—a perfect fall treat!


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 medium apple, peeled and finely diced
  • 2 tbsp (25g) granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well incorporated.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing just until combined.
  6. Gently fold in the diced apple.
  7. Spread the batter into the prepared baking pan.
  8. Mix 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the batter.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into squares and serving.
