- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 1 sheet puff pastry
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Peel and core the apples, cutting them into halves or quarters.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then stir in the sugar until caramelized (5-7 minutes).
- Add the apples to the skillet, cooking until just tender and coated with caramel.
- Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
- Place the puff pastry over the apples, tucking in the edges.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool slightly, then invert onto a plate to serve warm.
