Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 sheet puff pastry

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Peel and core the apples, cutting them into halves or quarters.
  3. Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, then stir in the sugar until caramelized (5-7 minutes).
  4. Add the apples to the skillet, cooking until just tender and coated with caramel.
  5. Stir in vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  6. Place the puff pastry over the apples, tucking in the edges.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  8. Let cool slightly, then invert onto a plate to serve warm.
