- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 ½ cups warm water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- In a big bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.
- Pour in the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped rosemary, mixing until well combined.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about an hour until doubled in size.
- Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf or round ball.
- Place on a parchment-lined baking tray, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Make a few slashes on top of the dough with a sharp knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool before slicing and enjoy!
Notes
Use alternative herbs like thyme or basil if rosemary is unavailable. For a flavorful twist, consider adding sun-dried tomatoes or cheese.
