Description

A delicious and easy-to-make classic Italian dish that combines chicken, cheese, and marinara sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners and special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Place the chicken breasts on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Spray the tops with olive oil.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven and spoon marinara sauce over each breast, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  9. Return to oven and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and chicken is cooked through.
  10. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For even cooking, pound chicken breasts to an even thickness. You can substitute chicken thighs and experiment with different breadcrumbs.
