- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas until well combined.
- Mix in the granulated sugar, then add the eggs and vanilla extract. Whisk until frothy.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and chopped nuts if desired.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the edges are set and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the brownies cool on a wire rack for 10-15 minutes.
- Cut into squares and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
For added flavor, serve with vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
