Description

A show-stopping appetizer combining beef bacon, creamy Brie, and caramelized onions wrapped in crescent dough, perfect for impressing friends or serving at parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons non-alcoholic red wine
  • 8 slices beef bacon
  • 2 (8 oz) tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 (12 oz) wheel Brie cheese, trimmed and cubed
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Chives, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook the beef bacon in a skillet until crispy, then transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to drain. Crumble or chop the bacon.
  3. Trim and cube the Brie cheese.
  4. Prepare an egg wash with some of the beaten eggs and set aside.
  5. Unroll one can of crescent dough into a rectangle, sealing the seams, and repeat with the second can.
  6. Arrange the dough into a cross shape and cut into 16 triangles, leaving a circular space in the center.
  7. Spoon crumbled bacon onto the wider edge of each triangle and scatter cubed Brie over the bacon.
  8. Fold each triangle over the filling to form a wreath shape.
  9. Brush the wreath with egg wash.
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  11. Let cool and optionally sprinkle with chives before serving.

Notes

For best results, use quality Brie. You can customize by adding jam or swapping ingredients like for turkey bacon or dairy-free cheese alternatives.
