- 1 lb (450g) beef (flank steak, sirloin, or ribeye), thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 carrot, julienned
- ½ cup snap peas, ends trimmed
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- Steamed rice (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Trim excess fat and slice beef thinly against the grain.
- In a bowl, mix soy sauce and hoisin sauce; add sliced beef and marinate for 10-20 minutes.
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok over high heat until very hot.
- Add marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until browned; remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium-high, add minced garlic and grated ginger, and stir for 20-30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add bell pepper, broccoli, carrot, and snap peas, stir-fry for 2-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
- Return beef to the wok; drizzle with sesame oil and honey, mixing well to combine.
- Serve hot over steamed rice, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds, if desired.
Notes
For added spice, incorporate chili paste or Sriracha with the sauce. Make the dish gluten-free by using tamari or certified gluten-free soy sauce.
