Instructions
- Cut chocolate sponge cake into cubes, ensuring they are bite-sized.
- Whip cream with sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Layer cake cubes in a trifle bowl and drizzle with cherry syrup and Kirsch if desired.
- Add cherries, then spoon whipped cream over them.
- Repeat layers until the bowl is filled, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings, fresh cherries, and mint.
- Chill for at least 2-3 hours before serving.
Notes
For a unique twist, substitute with pound cake or brownies. Make sure to chill to achieve the best texture.
