- 2 cups heavy cream
- 3 tbsp powdered sugar

- 1 jar sour cherries in syrup
- 2 tbsp Kirsch (optional)
- 1 bar dark chocolate
- Fresh cherries
- Fresh mint
Instructions
- Cut the chocolate sponge cake into small cubes.
- In a bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
- Layer the cake cubes in a large glass bowl or individual cups, drizzling cherry syrup over each layer.
- Add a layer of sour cherries followed by whipped cream.
- Repeat layers, finishing with whipped cream on top.
- Grate dark chocolate over the top and garnish with fresh cherries and mint.
- Chill in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours before serving.
Notes
For best results, let the trifle chill to allow the flavors to meld together. Cover well in the fridge to avoid odor absorption.
