Description

A creamy and savory one-pan meal featuring fluffy gnocchi, beef bacon, and fresh broccoli, all enhanced with the delicious flavors of Boursin cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g (1.1 lbs) fresh or frozen potato gnocchi
  • 200g (7 oz) streaky beef bacon, thick-cut, diced into small lardons
  • 400g (14 oz) lean ground beef (80/20 mix)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 300g (10 oz) fresh broccoli florets, cut into small, bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 150ml (2/3 cup) beef broth
  • 150g (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs cheese
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) heavy cream (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut broccoli into bite-sized florets. Finely dice the yellow onion and mince the garlic cloves. Cut beef bacon into small lardons. Gather all other ingredients.
  2. In a large skillet, add diced beef bacon. Cook until golden and crisp. Remove bacon and reserve some fat. Increase heat; brown ground beef for about 5 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add onion to the skillet. Cook until softened, then add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Boil salted water. Cook gnocchi for 2-3 minutes. Transfer directly to the skillet. Blanch broccoli in the same water for 1-2 minutes, then add to skillet.
  5. Reduce heat, add beef broth, deglaze pan, and stir in Boursin cheese until melted. Optionally, stir in heavy cream.
  6. Add broccoli and gnocchi to the skillet. Simmer for 2-3 minutes. Adjust seasoning.
  7. Fold in bacon lardons, reserving some for garnish. Serve in bowls, garnished with parsley, Parmesan cheese, and remaining bacon.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the gnocchi and ensure to season well. Feel free to make ingredient substitutions as needed.
