Description
A cozy loaf infused with brown butter, diced apples, and toffee bits, perfect for breakfast, dessert, or an indulgent snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup apples, peeled and diced
- 1/2 cup toffee bits
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan generously.
- Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, cooking until golden brown and nutty. Let cool slightly.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another large bowl, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add the browned butter and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the diced apples and toffee bits.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Tap the pan on the counter to settle.
- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Tent with foil if necessary.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and cool completely on a wire rack. Slice once cooled.
Notes
Use good quality butter for the best flavor. Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the loaf tender.
