Scale
- 1 ripe pineapple
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Select a ripe pineapple; choose one that is sweet-smelling with a slightly soft texture.
- Peel and core the pineapple, slicing it into 1-inch thick slices.
- In a bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, melted butter, honey (if using), and salt to prepare the marinade.
- Place pineapple slices in a resealable bag or shallow dish, pour marinade over, ensuring they are well coated, and let sit for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high, heating it for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Brush grill grates with oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the marinated pineapple slices for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side until caramelized.
- Check for doneness; the slices should be tender but not mushy.
