  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 24 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch springform pan. Wrap the pan with foil to prevent leaks.
  2. In a bowl, whisk melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder until combined. Spread evenly in the pan.
  3. Bake the brownie base for 20 minutes and allow to cool slightly.
  4. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then add eggs one at a time. Mix in vanilla and sour cream until creamy. Pour over the cooled brownie layer.
  5. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until the center is set. Let cool inside the oven with the door slightly open for 1 hour.
  6. Chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. For the ganache, heat cream, pour over chocolate chips, let sit, then stir until smooth. Spread over the chilled cheesecake.
  8. Garnish with whipped cream or chocolate curls, slice, and serve.

Notes
