Description

A deconstructed take on the classic burger, these Burger Bowls combine seasoned beef, crunchy lettuce, tangy pickles, and melty cheddar over warm brown rice for a hearty and customizable meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked brown rice
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/2 cup sliced pickles
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard

Instructions

  1. Cook the brown rice according to package instructions and let it cool slightly while still warm.
  2. Prepare toppings: wash and dry cherry tomatoes and lettuce, halve tomatoes, and slice pickles.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add ground beef; cook until browned and no longer pink, about 6–8 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Drain excess fat from the beef, if desired, and allow to cook for another 30–60 seconds.
  5. Divide cooked brown rice among serving bowls, topping with cooked ground beef.
  6. Add shredded lettuce, halved cherry tomatoes, and sliced pickles to the bowls.
  7. Finish with shredded cheddar cheese.
  8. Drizzle ketchup and mustard over the bowls or serve on the side.

Notes
