- 1/4 tsp Ground nutmeg

- 1 1/2 cups White granulated sugar
- 2 tsp Pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup Sour cream, room temperature
- 4 Large eggs, room temperature
- 1 cup Buttermilk, room temperature
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour your baking pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg, and black pepper. Set aside.
- Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Beat in vanilla extract and sour cream, then add eggs one at a time.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, starting and ending with dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan, smooth the top, and bake for about 30-35 minutes.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, frost with your choice of frosting and garnish with cinnamon or nutmeg.
