A delightful combination of cheesy goodness and crispy chicken, perfect for gatherings or casual dinners.
Ingredients
- Water: 75 ml
- Milk: 200 ml
- Honey: 15 g
- Instant yeast: 9 g
- Egg: 2
- Sunflower oil: 30 ml
- Flour: 600 g
- Salt: 15 g
- Butter: 25 g
- Parmesan cheese: 40 g
- Cayenne powder: 6 g
- Onion powder: 7.5 g
- Black pepper powder: 3 g
- Chicken filet: 700 g
- Sambal oelek: 35 g
- Soy sauce: 10 ml
- Cornstarch: 150 g
- Mayonnaise: 120 g
- Chili sauce: 75 g
Instructions
- Combine lukewarm water, milk, honey, and yeast in a bowl. Mix well and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Add the beaten egg and sunflower oil, then mix. Next, add the flour, salt, and butter. Knead the dough for 10-12 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- In a separate bowl, mix Parmesan cheese, cayenne powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Set aside.
- Cut chicken into pieces and place in a bowl. Add salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne powder, black pepper, sambal, soy sauce, and beaten egg. Mix and refrigerate.
- After the dough has risen, deflate and divide into 14 pieces (70 g each). Shape into balls and roll each into a rectangle (15 x 13 cm).
- Brush the dough with milk, dip one side into the Parmesan mixture, and place on a baking sheet. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 200 ℃ for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and onion powder in a bowl. Coat chicken with the mixture and fry until golden brown.
- Mix mayonnaise, chili sauce, and sambal. Toss fried chicken with the sauce.
- Fill buns with chicken, fresh vegetables, and extra sauce to taste.
Notes
Serve warm and consider offering additional sauces or pickles. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days or freeze for a month.
