Description

A comforting casserole featuring ground beef, tender potatoes, and melty cheese, perfect for weeknights and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, sliced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef and onion over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, and any other seasonings desired.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Top with half of the ground beef mixture and half of the cheese.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with a side salad or crusty bread. For creamier texture, add extra cheese. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days. You can freeze for up to 2 months.
