Ingredients

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped dried cherries

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (3-5 minutes).
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time and then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
  6. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  9. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets.
  10. Bake for 9-11 minutes or until edges are golden, and centers are slightly soft.
  11. Cool on sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
