Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  7. In a small bowl, mix together the 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon for the topping. Sprinkle over the batter.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before slicing into bars. Enjoy your chewy snickerdoodle cookie bars!
