Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Whisk together lime juice, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl to make the marinade.
  2. Place flank steak in the marinade, ensuring it’s fully submerged. Seal in a zip-top bag.
  3. Marinate for at least 30 minutes and up to 4 hours in the refrigerator.
  4. Preheat grill or grill pan over medium-high heat (around 400–450°F).
  5. Remove steak from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Grill for 4–6 minutes per side for medium-rare.
  6. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Slice thinly against the grain and serve garnished with fresh cilantro.
