Delicious bars made with ripe bananas and chocolate chips, perfect for breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients

- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl.
- Add melted butter to the bananas and mix well.
- Stir in granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together baking soda, salt, and flour.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
- Grease a 9×13 inch pan and pour the batter in, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Allow to cool for 10-15 minutes, then cut into squares and enjoy.
Notes
For optimal sweetness, use overripe bananas. Can be served warm with ice cream or drizzled with chocolate sauce.
