Ingredients

  • 2 cups spelt flour (or white or oat flour)
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup Dutch cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or peanut butter)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, Dutch cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, mix sugar, yogurt, milk, and oil until well combined. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix gently.
  6. Fold in chocolate chips.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top if desired.
  8. Bake for 55-70 minutes or until a skewer comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Cool in the pan for 15-20 minutes, then remove using parchment paper and cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. If desired, prepare a chocolate glaze and apply once the loaf has cooled.
