Description

A delightful fusion of traditional chai latte with festive spices, perfect for cozy winter evenings and holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk (or a plant-based alternative)
  • 1 black teabag or 1 tsp black tea leaves
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • A pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp honey

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine water with cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and black pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Remove from heat, add the black tea, cover, and let steep for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Remove the tea bag or strain out the tea leaves. Stir in brown sugar and honey to sweeten.
  4. In a separate saucepan, heat milk over medium-low heat until steaming hot, then froth if desired.
  5. Pour the hot spiced tea into a mug, followed by the hot frothed milk. Stir gently to combine.
  6. Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, optionally folding in a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg. Top the latte with whipped cream and garnish with a sprinkle of spices or a cinnamon stick.

Notes

For a vegan version, substitute heavy cream and milk with plant-based options. Adjust sweetness to your preference and enjoy it fresh for the best flavor.
