Description

Deliciously festive cookies that are fun to decorate and perfect for sharing during the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 cups frosted sprouts (or holiday-themed sprinkles)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, white sugar, and egg until smooth. Mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  5. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass and sprinkle some frosted sprouts on top.
  7. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven until golden. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
