Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Decorations (sprinkles, icing, or edible glitter)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and mix in the vanilla and almond extracts.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls, and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass and decorate as desired.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden.
- Let cool on wire racks before serving.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Freeze for longer storage.
