- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (210g)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk (240ml)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup red and green sprinkles (jimmies style)
- Optional Topping: 1 tablespoon coarse sugar
- Additional sprinkles for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla and buttermilk.
- Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed. Be careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the sprinkles, ensuring not to overmix the batter.
- Pour the batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top. If you desire, sprinkle some coarse sugar or additional sprinkles on top.
- Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Serve with butter or cream cheese; pairs well with coffee or hot chocolate. Store wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for a week.
