Description

A delightful and festive bread filled with colorful sprinkles, perfect for Christmas celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (210g)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk (240ml)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • ½ cup red and green sprinkles (jimmies style)
  • Optional Topping: 1 tablespoon coarse sugar
  • Additional sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line or grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla and buttermilk.
  4. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just mixed. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the sprinkles, ensuring not to overmix the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into the loaf pan and smooth the top. If you desire, sprinkle some coarse sugar or additional sprinkles on top.
  7. Bake for 45–55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve with butter or cream cheese; pairs well with coffee or hot chocolate. Store wrapped tightly at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for a week.
