Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup frosting (buttercream or cream cheese)
  • Festive sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time along with the almond and vanilla extracts.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. Spread the cookie dough evenly into the greased baking pan.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.
  9. Spread frosting on top and decorate with festive sprinkles.
  10. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes

Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days or refrigerate for up to a week. You can freeze the un-frosted bars for up to 2 months.
