- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup frosting (buttercream or cream cheese)
- Festive sprinkles for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time along with the almond and vanilla extracts.
- Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into the greased baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan.
- Spread frosting on top and decorate with festive sprinkles.
- Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.
Notes
Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days or refrigerate for up to a week. You can freeze the un-frosted bars for up to 2 months.
