- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons milk (if needed)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt.
- In another bowl, warm milk and melted butter, then add the egg.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients and knead until smooth, aiming for a soft, slightly tacky dough.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Roll out dough and spread with the brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. Roll tightly and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter, then add powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add milk one tablespoon at a time for desired consistency.
- Once the loaf cools, drizzle with frosting and serve.
Notes
Use real butter and cream cheese for the best flavor. Consider adding nutmeg or cardamom for extra spice.
