Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Wash the apples and cut around the core, creating four large pieces.
- Cut the apple pieces into fries, about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick.
- Pat the apple fries dry with a paper towel.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, optional nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
- Drizzle the melted butter over the apple fries and toss gently to coat.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the fries and toss again to evenly coat.
- Arrange the coated apple fries on the baking sheet in a single layer.
- Bake in the oven for 15-25 minutes, checking at 15 minutes for doneness.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For extra crispiness, consider using the air fryer method at 380°F (190°C) for 8-12 minutes. Serve with caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, or yogurt for dipping.
