- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with flour.
- Mix brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a small amount of flour to create the streusel topping.
- Layer half of the batter in the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the streusel mixture, then add the remaining batter and top with the remaining streusel.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan before serving.
