Description

Ingredients

  • 1 box Angel cake mix
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Optional: Chocolate sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Slice prepared angel food cake into 1-inch thick slabs and then into cubes. Set aside on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. For the wet station, whisk together eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Heat 4-6 cups of oil in a pot to 350-375°F while preparing a plate lined with paper towels.
  4. Dip cake cubes into the wet batter, coat in dry batter, and fry in hot oil for 2-3 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  5. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a dish and coat warm churro bites. Transfer to a serving platter.
  6. Optionally, serve with dipping sauces like chocolate ganache or salted caramel.
