Description

Deliciously crunchy crackers made with Rice Krispies and sharp cheddar cheese, perfect for snacking or entertaining.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, very cold and cut into small cubes
  • 1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 24 tablespoons ice water
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water or milk (for egg wash)
  • Flaky sea salt (optional topping)
  • Extra cayenne pepper (optional topping)
  • Sesame seeds (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, salt, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Add cold butter cubes and mix until it resembles coarse meal.
  4. Fold in cheddar cheese and Rice Krispies until just incorporated.
  5. Gradually add ice water until dough forms a cohesive ball.
  6. Form the dough into a disc, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets.
  8. Roll out the dough to about 1/16 to 1/8 inch thickness.
  9. Cut the dough into squares or fun shapes and transfer to baking sheets.
  10. Brush with egg wash and add optional toppings.
  11. Bake for 12-18 minutes until golden brown.
  12. Cool completely on a wire rack before serving.
