Description

The Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwich fuses the classic flavors of a Caesar salad with the satisfying crunch of fried chicken, all in a warm baguette.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • 12 garlic cloves (minced)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Pinch sea salt
  • 5 chicken cutlets
  • Sea salt (to taste)
  • Ground black pepper (to taste)
  • Oil (for frying)
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup panko crumbs
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)
  • 2 romaine hearts (chopped)
  • 12 French baguettes
  • Parmesan cheese (freshly grated)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Caesar dressing by mixing the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, freshly grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, black pepper, and sea salt in a bowl until smooth and creamy.
  2. Take 4–5 tablespoons of this dressing and mix it with the chopped romaine lettuce. Cover both the salad and remaining dressing and refrigerate.
  3. Pound chicken cutlets to make them even in thickness. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  4. Set up a breading station: in the first shallow plate, mix flour, salt, and smoked paprika; in the second, whisk eggs with salt; in the third, combine panko, breadcrumbs, parsley, black pepper, salt, oregano, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dredge each chicken cutlet in flour, dip in egg, and press into breadcrumb mixture.
  6. Fry chicken in hot oil until golden brown on both sides (about 4-5 minutes per side). Drain on a wire rack.
  7. Slice baguettes and spread a layer of reserved Caesar dressing, add a crispy chicken cutlet, top with Caesar salad, and extra grated Parmesan. Close the sandwiches and serve immediately.

Notes

Store the components separately in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat chicken in the oven for crispiness when ready to assemble.
