- 4 cups crispy rice cereal
- 1 cup marshmallows
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- Optional: ½ cup chocolate chips or sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare the pan by lining an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly greasing it.
- Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low to medium-low heat, swirling to coat the pan.
- Add marshmallows and stir until smooth, about 2–3 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt for flavor.
- In a large bowl, mix melted marshmallow with crispy rice cereal until evenly coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down evenly.
- Let cool for about 30 minutes until set.
- Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for a week. For freezing, wrap in plastic and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to a month.
