Description
A simple, one-pot wonder combining tender chicken, creamy gravy, and hearty rice, perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 to 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 (10.5-oz) can of unsalted cream of chicken soup
- 2 (0.87-oz) envelopes of chicken gravy mix
- 1/2 cup water or chicken broth (optional)
- Hot steamed rice (to serve)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker and season them with salt and pepper to taste, if desired.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of chicken soup, chicken gravy mix, and water or chicken broth if using. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
- Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 4-6 hours.
- Before serving, break the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces using two forks. Serve the chicken and gravy over a bed of hot steamed rice.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider browning the chicken before adding it to the crockpot. Adding heavy cream or fresh herbs can enhance the texture and aroma.
