Description

Delightful chocolate brownies perfect for the festive season, easy to make and great for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • Decorative icing or sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove.
  3. Mix in the sugar until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. Fold in chocolate chips, if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow to cool before cutting into squares. Decorate with icing or sprinkles as desired.

Notes

For a festive twist, add peppermint extract or crushed candy canes. Store in an airtight container for up to one week.
