Description
A hassle-free recipe for teriyaki chicken that cooks itself in a crockpot, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (optional)
- Cooked rice or noodles for serving
- Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
- In a bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
- Add sliced bell peppers if desired.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender.
- Shred the chicken in the crockpot with two forks and mix it well with the sauce.
- Serve over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
For deeper flavor, marinate the chicken in teriyaki sauce for a few hours before cooking. Adjust the sweetness by modifying the honey amount or reduce for less sweetness. For a thicker sauce, cook uncovered for an additional 15-30 minutes after shredding.
