Description

A hassle-free recipe for teriyaki chicken that cooks itself in a crockpot, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (optional)
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, honey, garlic, and ginger. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
  3. Add sliced bell peppers if desired.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender.
  5. Shred the chicken in the crockpot with two forks and mix it well with the sauce.
  6. Serve over cooked rice or noodles and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For deeper flavor, marinate the chicken in teriyaki sauce for a few hours before cooking. Adjust the sweetness by modifying the honey amount or reduce for less sweetness. For a thicker sauce, cook uncovered for an additional 15-30 minutes after shredding.
