- 1 1/2 cups white sugar

- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup crushed peppermint candies
- 1/4 cup icing sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and baking powder together.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the mixture, blending well.
- Stir in the crushed peppermint candies until evenly distributed.
- Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place them on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden.
- Let the cookies cool on wire racks, then dust them with icing sugar before serving.
Notes
For variations, try adding cocoa powder for a chocolatey version or substituting some white sugar with brown sugar for a richer flavor.
