Ingredients

- 1 Stick unsalted Butter, softened
- 1 Stick Margarine, softened
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of Salt
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose Flour
- 1 heaping teaspoon Baking Powder
- Optional gel food coloring
Instructions
- Put the softened butter and margarine in an electric mixer. Mix until fluffy.
- Add sugar, half a cup at a time, alternating with the eggs.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- In another bowl, mix flour, salt, and baking powder together.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture by hand, careful not to overwork the dough.
- Chill the dough in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
- Chill your baking pan for 15 minutes in the fridge.
- Load your Spritz Cookie Press according to the instructions.
- If the dough is too soft, chill a little more; if too stiff, let sit out for a few minutes.
- Press the cookies onto an ungreased cookie sheet.
- Add sprinkles or sanding sugar before baking.
- Bake at 350°F for 10 to 15 minutes.
Notes
To store, keep in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze with parchment paper between layers.
