Description
A smooth and naturally sweet Crockpot Peach Butter made with fresh or frozen peaches and warm spices. Perfect for spreading on toast, biscuits, or using in desserts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 pounds of peeled, sliced peaches (fresh or thawed frozen)
- 1¼ cups granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (optional)
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
Optional Add-ins:
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of nutmeg or ground ginger
- Natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup in place of sugar
Instructions
- Prepare the Peaches: If using frozen, fully thaw and drain. If using fresh, peel, pit, and slice. Make sure to weigh after peeling and pitting.
- Add to Crockpot: Combine peaches, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice in the crockpot. Stir gently.
- Cook on Low: Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 6 to 8 hours until peaches are soft.
- Blend Until Smooth: Use an immersion blender (or transfer to a blender in batches) and puree until silky.
- Thicken (if needed): If it’s too thin, cook uncovered for 1–2 more hours on low to thicken further.
- Store: Let it cool and store in clean mason jars. Refrigerate up to 1 month, freeze up to 6 months, or can properly for shelf-stable storage.
Notes
This peach butter is naturally gluten-free and can be sweetened to taste. Add warm spices for a cozy flavor or skip them for pure peach taste.
