- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounces egg noodles
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Remove and drain any excess fat.
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened. Add garlic and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms are tender.
- Return the beef to the skillet. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing to a boil.
- Reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in sour cream, salt, and pepper, heating through.
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain and serve stroganoff over noodles.
Notes
For a healthier version, use lean ground beef and consider substituting Greek yogurt for sour cream. This dish can also be made gluten-free with the appropriate noodles and sauces.
