Description

A quick and comforting dish combining ground beef, savory mushrooms, and a creamy sauce served over egg noodles, perfect for busy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Remove and drain any excess fat.
  2. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened. Add garlic and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms are tender.
  3. Return the beef to the skillet. Stir in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in sour cream, salt, and pepper, heating through.
  6. Cook egg noodles according to package directions; drain and serve stroganoff over noodles.

Notes

For a healthier version, use lean ground beef and consider substituting Greek yogurt for sour cream. This dish can also be made gluten-free with the appropriate noodles and sauces.
