Description A quick and nutritious weeknight dinner that combines pasta with fresh broccoli and garlic for a delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti, penne, or farfalle)
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  2. With 2-3 minutes left in the cooking time, add the broccoli florets to the pot.
  3. Drain the pasta and broccoli together in a colander.
  4. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet and season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Toss to combine.
  6. Serve topped with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
