Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 medium zucchini, sliced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 3 cups cooked white rice
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook rice according to package instructions.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet, add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add remaining oil to skillet. Sauté garlic, then add broccoli, bell peppers, zucchini, and mushrooms. Cook until just tender.
  4. Divide rice into bowls, top with beef and vegetables, garnish with parsley or green onions, and serve.

Notes

This recipe is flexible; adjust the vegetables based on what you have on hand. For more acidity, add a squeeze of lime or a splash of rice vinegar.
