A delightful holiday beverage combining vanilla ice cream and peppermint syrup, topped with whipped cream and festive garnishes.
Ingredients

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2–3 peppermint candy canes, crushed
- ½ teaspoon pure peppermint extract
- 1 drop red food coloring (optional)
- 3–4 peppermint candy canes for garnish
- 1 cup cold heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- ¼ teaspoon pure peppermint extract
- 2–3 generous scoops premium vanilla ice cream
- 1–2 tablespoons peppermint syrup
- Chilled lemon-lime soda
Instructions
- Prepare Homemade Peppermint Syrup: Combine sugar and water in a saucepan, heat until sugar dissolves, and add crushed candy canes if desired. Cool and add peppermint extract and food coloring.
- Crush Candy Canes: Place peppermint candy canes in a bag and crush them into small shards.
- Make Fresh Peppermint Whipped Cream: Chill mixing bowl, whip cream until soft peaks form, add powdered sugar and peppermint extract, and whip to stiff peaks.
- Chill Serving Glasses: Place serving glasses in the freezer for 15-20 minutes to cool.
- Assemble the Float: Moisten glass rims, dip in crushed candy canes, add ice cream, drizzle syrup, and top with soda.
- Garnish and Serve: Add whipped cream, sprinkle crushed candy canes, and decorate with mint sprigs and other festive toppings. Serve immediately with straws.
