- 10 slices bread
- 10 fully cooked sausage links
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Use a rolling pin or your hands to flatten the bread. Optionally, cut off the crusts.
- Place a sausage link on the front edge of the flattened bread and roll it up tightly. Set it aside.
- In a shallow dish or blender, add the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and flour. Mix until smooth.
- Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium heat and grease it well with butter.
- Dip each sausage roll-up into the egg mixture, gently rolling to coat all sides, then place the roll-ups on the hot griddle.
- Cook for a few minutes, turning gently, until golden brown on all sides. Serve warm with syrup.
Notes
For best results, use sturdy bread like Texas toast. Add chocolate chips or fruit for variety.
